Beachside stunner in Cronulla listed with $12m auction guide

Buying this stunning Cronulla home, which just hit the market with a $12 million auction guide, would be like owning a slice of the Pacific Ocean.

It might be rare to find 1,100m² of land in Sydney these days – but land that directly overlooks the ocean – well, it’s a gem worth polishing.

That’s exactly what the owners of this waterfront home have done.

After buying 83 The Esplanade, Cronulla for $2.63 million about 10 years ago, they treated it like a “diamond in the rough” and added a gym, sauna and swimming pool, says the sales agent Marko Maric of One Agency Cronulla – Caringbah.

It was worth it. The Hamptons-style luxury home is now up for auction on Tuesday, April 26 with an indicative price of $12 million.

One of the best things about the two-story house is that you can see the ocean from every room.

A lazy Sunday morning takes on a whole new meaning when it comes to waking up to a view of the sea.

And then, when you decide to get up, you have a retreat-style home to enjoy before heading to the beach.

Not only does the gym make it impossible to shy away from exercising, but the wellness retreat with sauna for one person gives you a place to recuperate.

But if gym workouts aren’t your thing, the space can easily be converted back into a double garage.

In addition, you can enjoy a gas-heated swimming pool, two heated outdoor showers and an outdoor kitchen.

And once you decide to take a short walk to Shelly Beach or Oak Park for a swim, you know you’re one of the lucky ones who doesn’t have to fight for parking.

The interiors of the house are full of character.

Handcrafted coffered ceilings and white wainscot walls contrast with dark bamboo floors in the living room and formal dining room, while black and white marble tiles adorn the provincial kitchen and family room.

The master bedroom has a one-of-a-kind glass en-suite bathroom. The shower separates it from the bedroom, while a diagonally placed bathtub adds an original and sophisticated touch.

The home also has an oceanfront deck with remote controlled blinds, solar panels, and keyless entry.

The house has real claims to be the best in the Shire.

It does, however, have some competition from a recent $14 million sale at Cowra Place, Cronulla, which has a very similar ocean outlook and changed hands for $14 million in December.

“Renowned worldwide for setting a benchmark for waterside living, ‘Cove House’ is located at the entrance to the waters of Port Hacking in Sydney’s south.

“The residence is one of Australia’s most iconic coastal homes and was designed by renowned architect Reuben Lane in the early 1970s,” this home’s listing reads.
